WILLIAM & SARAH (nee Triggell) MYERS (at Pearce's Creek)

William and Mary born 1853 were twins and the last of David and Elizabeth's children.

William married Sarah Triggell at the house of his parents, "One Tree Hill" in 1882. He has been quoted as saying that he had helped look after two flocks of sheep with about 1200 in each flock, this was over a period of eight years. It was whilst tending these flocks that William taught himself to read and "do sums".

About the year 1862 people started taking up land by selection, and the shepherding in those days had to be done with great care to keep the sheep from getting mixed up with another shepherd's sheep, there not being any fences. All the country for miles around was unfenced, the boundary between each sheep run was marked by a heap of stones or a tree, hill or creek. A person could ride on horseback for fifty miles or more and not see a boundary fence.

He and Sarah moved to the North Coast where they raised a family of seven children.
