1. James Ashton Taylor, son of Edward Taylor and Ann Townsend, was born on June 13, 1822 in Campbelltown, NSW1 and died on November 30, 1906 in Spring Creek, Delegate River, VIC at age 84.
Notes: James Taylor was born in the colony and lived at Taylors Flat which was named after him. His father Edward was a convict who arrived at Port Jackson aboard the ship "Fanny" on the 18th January 1816. He had been convicted of forgery of money and sentenced to 14 years transportation. His mother Ann, nee Townsend was also a convict who arrived in the colony aboard the ship "Lord Melville" on the 24th February 1817. She had been convicted also of forgery of money and sentenced to transportation for 14 years. She was already pregnant when she was convicted and had her first child Edward in gaol.
James' sister Emma married John Pendergast of "Cottage Creek" Station, Berridale NSW.

James married Mary Ann Fahey, daughter of James Fahey and Mary Martin, on July 15, 1844 in Taylors Flat, NSW.2 Mary was born circa 1820 in Dublin, Ireland and died on October 4, 1898 in Delegate River, VIC at age 78.
Notes: Mary and her 1st husband James Martin migrated to the colony aboard the ship "Alfred" which had departed from Portsmouth in England on the 25th October 1841 and arrived at Port Jackson on the 29th January 1842. The voyage took 96 days and there were no stops along the way.

'In the first stages of the attack on VILLE-SUR-ANCRE near ALBERT on 19th May, 1918, this N.C.O. was in charge of the flank of the advance. He saw an enemy gun crew rush into an emplacement with the evident intention of getting their gun into action. Without hesitation he rushed the post, shot one of the crew, forced two others to flee and captured the gun. His promptitude certainly saved his party from being held up and from becoming casualties. He then advanced with great dash and reached the objective with his party.'
