Thomas and Sarah Johnston
Nimmitabel 1852

Pattrick

I'm attaching the information I have on Thomas and Sarah Johnston - a bit meagre I know.  The Post Office register you have on the Nimmitabel site shows them both, with Thomas as storekeeper.  I've never been able to find any record of them having children.  Sarah's father William was my ggg grandfather, so she was my (indeterminate no of greats) aunt.
Where would I look for more information on their lives in Nimmitabel?

Hayes, hairdresser of Woy Woy)

TO Sarah Davis, at Mr Milsop's, Breagh near Portadown

My Dear Sarah,

As I think you cannot read common writing, I send you this in print to put you in remembrance that you have some friends at Warrenpoint who often think and speak of you, and are very anxious to see you. I intended to have gone to see you at Easter and to have taken your brother William with me, but was disappointed.

I hope you are very attentive to your Book and obedient to all your friends. I request you to be entirely submissive to your Grandmamma and Grandpapa.

Your brothers are growing fine boys. You would scarcely know them if you would meet them at the road.

Your Grandmamma and Grandpapa Davis desire their love to you.

Recommending you to the favor of God who is a friend to the friendless, and hoping that you will obey his commands and remember thy Creator in the days of your youth.

I am dear Sarah, your father William Davis.
