As time went on he secured a large and valuable property and later his brother , the late James Malinn , of Clyde Bank , Nimmitabel , secured adjoining blocks .

The deceased  , who was a great horseman and lover of good horses , prospered well , as he was upright and honest . He secured a team of horses to go carrying on the roads to Merimbula , an occupation he followed for many years and which proved very remunerative , his horses also being the admiration and envy of his fellow carriers .

His mother married the late Mr . David Cogan and the deceased then resided on a property which he later sold to the late Mr . Reuben Rose , of Boloco . He retired 41 years ago and has resided in Sydney almost continuosly since . He did not marry .

One brother , Patrick , survives and one step-sister , Mrs . Annie Kidman , of Crow’s Nest , Queensland ; also John , James , Charles , Michael and Thomas Malinn , David , Duncan , William , George and Charles Kidman , nephew (sic) and Kate (Mrs . Fleming) ,also other nephews and nieces . Cousins Mrs . Kilkearney and family were constant visitors to the bedridden invalid for years and have shown him very great kindnesses and consideration through out the long illness .

The late Thomas Cogan , of Boloco , was a step-brother of deceased and Madgie  (Marcella Green) of Boloco , was an adopted sister , his mother having brought her from Ireland as an infant . One sister and a stepsister predeceased him.

During his long illness he was regularly visited by the priests from Camperdown  and Newtown . he was tenderly and affectionately nursed by his neice , and an old friend  , Nurse Betteridge , also attended him during his sickness .

The funeral left St. Joseph’s Church , Newtown , on the 18th. inst., for Rookwood Cemetery and was largely attended by relatives and friends .
