John Langhorne, son of Thomas Langhorne and Elizabeth Richards, was born on April 16, 1818 in Camden, Middlesex, England, was baptised on June 28, 1818 in Parish of Saint George the Martyr, Middlesex, London, died on May 10, 1891 in Bombala, NSW1 at age 73, and was buried on May 12, 1891 in Bombala Cemetery, NSW. The cause of his death was Natural decay.

JOHN LANGHORN was indicted for stealing, on the 12th of September 1831 , 1 handkerchief, value 4s., the goods of Charles Peake , from his person .
CHARLES PEAKE. I live at Kennington-common. I was going through Hatton-garden last Monday, and felt a motion at my pocket; I turned round instantly, and seized the prisoner, who had two others with him - he produced my handkerchief to me immediately; it was safe just before.
PATRICK WALLACE . I am a Policeman. I took the prisoner in charge. (Property produced and sworn to.)
Prisoner's Defence. Two boys picked the gentleman's pocket, and threw the handkerchief at me; he turned round and seized me as I was going to deliver it to him.
GUILTY . Aged 14. - Transported for Fourteen Years . --------------------------------------------- Transportation delivery from Middlesex Gaol. 27th April 1832, the Convicts spent nearly 2 weeks aboard until they sailed. John Langhorn. Voyage Date 9th May 1832 Ship "Clyde 1". Colony New South Wales, Australia The ship "Clyde" arrived in N.S.W. on the 27th August 1832. The "Clyde" had 200 men aboard and on arrival one had died leaving 199 men to disembark. The Sailing time for the "Clyde" from Portsmouth to Australia was 110 days. Master of the "Clyde" was Dan N Munro. Surgeon of the "Clyde" was George Fairfowl. John Langhorn's Sentences was reduces to 7 years on arrival in Australia and 7 years Probation. His Religion was "Presbyterian". On arrival his age is 14 years. ---------------------------------------------- He received a Ticket of leave April 20, 1843 and January 10, 1845.
He received Permission to marry Agnes Kemp (a free settler) August 20, 1844.
In March 1862, a selection in the name of Caroline Whalan was purchased and the money paid into J. Langhorne's account.The selection was bought for £30, paid into John Langhorne's account in March 1862, 40 acres of second class country for £10 and £30 to be paid in March 1865. John Langhorne was a neighbour of Bibbenluke, at Junction Station on the Snowy River since 1839. John Langhorne's wife Agnes (nee Kemp,) died in Oct. 1862, leaving John with six children, aged 15 to 4 years, the eldest child, Elizabeth, having passed away in 1854, aged 9 years.
