Notes: Thomas Fletcher was a convict, he came to Australia in 1833 on the Neva 111. The place of trial was Somersetshire. He was sentenced to 14 years. On reaching Aus. he was assigned to Sherwin (in the Monaro district). He received his ticket of Leave dated 24 March 1840.
On Charlotte's death transcript her mother was named as Sarah Carr, in Thomas's transcript his wife was named as Sarah MacNamara.

DEATH OF A MONARO PIONEER.
BOMBALA, Wednesday.
Another of the pioneers of Monaro died on Sunday night at Cambalong in the person of Mr. Thomas Fletchett. The deceased was 93 years of age, and had been living in this district for upwards of half a century. Death was due to old age. The remains were buried in the Bombala Cemetery on Tuesday.
Thomas married Sarah McNamara, daughter of John McNamara and Sarah, circa 1843 in Nimmitabel, NSW. Sarah was born in 1819 in County Derry, Ireland and died in 1892 in Back Creek, NSW at age 73.
Notes: At the inquest into her death it was found she died of weakness from want of food. She was an invalid and was left alone in a hut for five days by her husband who neglected to provide her with food.

On the marriage record on the BDM register, Charles' surname is incorrectly spelt Costerill. Charles' obituary mentions that he came to Bombala as a boy, possibly 8 years old, when there were only 2 bark huts there.
The Bombala Times on the 21st November 1924 reported, " At the age of 82 years, after a long illness, Mr. Charles Cotterill Senior died on Tuesday last at his residence, 'New Haven', near Bombala. He was born in Sydney and came to Bombala in 1848, aged 6 years, with his father the late Captain Thomas Cotterill. The deceased was a life long resident, and for many years was in the employ of Mr. R. Campbell, of Cambalong Station. He leaves two brothers, one aged 79, and the other aged 80. His cousin, Captain Banks, died the other day in Sydney, aged 95. A grown up family of sons and daughters mourn the loss of a devoted father. The funeral on Thursday was largely attended, the Rev. Sherris reading the burial service."
