Elizabeth Bartlett was born circa 1785 in England, was baptised April 17, 1785 in Bromley, England, died November 1, 1826 in Sydney, NSW 1 at age 41, and was buried in Bunnerong Cemetery, Sydney, NSW. Notes: The Rolfe name in England goes back to the Vickings and is most prominent in Norfolk where they originally settled. A John Rolfe from Norfolk in 1609 sailed to America where he introduced the cultivation of tobacco to Virginia and married the Red Indian Princess, Pocohontas. (Submitted by Helen Rolfe). Elizabeth married Samuel Rolfe circa 1800 in England. Samuel died circa 1812 in England. Children from this marriage were: 2 M i. Sarah Rolfe was born circa 1812 in England, died in 1844 in Tidbinbilla, ACT 4 at age 32, and was buried in St. John's Church of England, Canberra, ACT. Elizabeth next married James Hennigan after 1812. James died July 10, 1821 in Sydney, NSW. The cause of his death was Took ill with a cough. Notes: James Hennigan was a convict who was sent to Hobart aboard the "Juliana". He was later allowed to join his wife who had arrived at Port Jackson. Elizabeth next married Timothy Beard December 27, 1821 in St Luke's Church of England, Liverpool, NSW.7 Timothy was born in 1762, died December 20, 1848 in Liverpool, NSW 8 at age 86, and was buried in Pioneers Cemetery, Liverpool, NSW. Notes: Timothy Beard was a convict who arrived at Port Jackson aboard the "Fortune" on the 12th July 1806. He had been sentenced to life transportation at the Gloucester County Court and departed
from England on the 28th January 1806. The nature of his crime is unknown. He received a Conditional Pardon on the 15th December 1817. Joseph Rolfe (Elizabeth1) was born about 1809 in England, died July 5, 1860 in Cow Pasture Rd., Lower Minto, NSW 2 aged about 51, and was buried July 8, 1860 in Liverpool, NSW. The cause of his death was Epilepsy. Notes: Joseph Rolfe arrived in New South Wales on the 3rd April 1820. He was accompanied by his mother Elizabeth and his sister Sarah. It is recorded that we can assume that she was a widow at the time because she was called Mrs. Hennigan. In 1821, Joseph's mother Elizabeth married Timothy Beard at Liverpool.
