1. William Baker, son of John Baker and Maria Nelson, was born circa 1822 in Norway and died in 1898 in Augathella, QLD at age 76.

• Occupation: Publican and Carpenter.

William married Mary Ann Casey on September 15, 1860 in Bombala, NSW.,1 daughter of Michael Casey and Johanna Maloney. Mary was born circa 1821 in Kilfinnane, Limerick, Ireland and died on January 17, 1896 in Charleville, QLD2 at age 75.

The child from this marriage was:

   2 M    i. Samuel Baker was born on May 13, 1861 in Crankies Plain, Bombala, NSW3 and died on November 20, 1929 in Dunwich, Stradbroke Island, QLD at age 68.

Samuel married Catherine Lawler on July 7, 1884 in All Saint's Church, Roma, Qld. Catherine was born circa 1864 in Dublin, Ireland, died on October 13, 1940 in Brisbane, QLD at age 76, and was buried on October 16, 1940 in Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane, QLD.

Notes: Supposedly left Dublin when she was 16 yrs old to join her 'uncle' Bishop James Francis Corbett in Melbourne, Australia. Not sure how but ended up In Brisbane, Australia. Her first job was a waitress in a restuarant at Sandgate. Lived at 19 Gray St Dublin at some stage.

   F    i. Georgina Elizabeth Baker was born on April 23, 1885 in Queensland, died on July 21, 1964 in Brisbane, QLD at age 79, and was buried on July 23, 1964 in Hemmant Cemetery, Brisbane, QLD.

Georgina married Charles Edward Norris on November 18, 1911. Charles was born circa 1872, died on December 26, 1949 in Brisbane, QLD at age 77, and was buried on December 28, 1949 in Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane, QLD. Another name for Charles was Charlie.

   F    ii. Ethel Frances Baker was born on December 21, 1886 in Queensland, died on June 16, 1969 in Brisbane, QLD at age 82, and was buried on June 19, 1969 in Lutwyche Cemetery, Brisbane, QLD.

Ethel married John Joseph Hanrahan on June 9, 1908. John died on August 26, 1944 in Brisbane, QLD and was buried on August 28, 1944 in Lutwyche Cemetery, Brisbane, QLD. Another name for John was Jack.

   F    iv. Violet Mildred Baker was born on December 28, 1890 in Queensland, died on December 7, 1964 in Eventide, QLD at age 73, and was buried in Nudgee, near Cape Howe, NSW.

   F    v. Marion Catherine Baker was born on October 31, 1892.

Marion married William Vercoe. Another name for William was Bill.

   M    vi. Terence James Baker was born on February 23, 1895 in Queensland, died on March 28, 1918 in France at age 23, and was buried in Villers Bretonneux, France. The cause of his death was Missing in action.
