Joseph married Catherine Hatton, daughter of William Munro Hatton and Jane Jack, on August 5, 1867 in Bombala, NSW.3 Catherine was born on January 14, 1850 in Cooma, NSW,4 was baptised on February 3, 1850 in St. Paul's Church of England, Cooma, NSW, died on December 28, 1921 in Coolumbooka near Bombala, NSW5 at age 71, and was buried on December 29, 1921 in Bombala Cemetery, NSW Catholic Section. Another name for Catherine was Kate.

MRS. JOSEPH MARTIN


On Wednesday of last week, after a severe attack of pneumonia extending over some weeks, Mrs. Joseph Martin died peacefully at her home near Bombala, and in the presence of her husband and members of the family. The deceased lady was 71 years of age, and a native of this district, in which she was married and reared a family of four sons and three daughters. She was a fond and devoted wife and mother, and the many relatives and friends will sympathise with the family in their bereavement. The funeral took place on Thursday, when there was a large following to the graveside in the R. C. cemetery, where the Rev. Father Roche read the burial service. The family that mourns her death is the husband, four sons (Ernest, Eric, Thomas, and Oswald), and three daughters Mrs. Cameron (Bombala), Mrs. French (Coraki), and Mrs. Russell (Bega). Mrs. A. Pauline of this town is a sister.

Mary married Andrew Douch, son of William John Douch and Sarah Stewart, on June 27, 1888 in Bombala, NSW.27 Andrew was born on May 26, 1867 in Bombala, NSW28 and died in 1898 in Eden, NSW29 at age 31.

Jane married Alexander Cameron, son of Alexander Watt Cameron and Annie Alice Summerill, on February 28, 1911 in Bombala, NSW.40 Alexander was born on August 16, 1879 in Bombala Station Bomabla, NSW41 and died in 1955 in Bombala, NSW42 at age 76.

4. Jessie Martin (Joseph1) was born in 1878 in Bombala, NSW13 and died in 1959 in Bega, NSW14 at age 81.

Jessie married John James Russell, son of Robert Russell and Mary Sparaley, in 1907 in Bega, NSW.46 John was born in 1877 in Bega, NSW47 and died in 1969 in Bega, NSW48 at age 92.
