Second Generation


2. Mary Hilley (Timothy1) was born in 1848 in Ballymacandrew, County Kerry, Ireland, died on October 5, 1908 in Cooma, NSW1 at age 60, and was buried on October 6, 1908 in Mittagang Cemetery, Cooma, NSW Grave 779b. The cause of her death was Cholocystitus - 2 years.

Notes: Mary migrated to Australia from Plymouth, England on the 4th July 1866 aboard the ship "Racehorse" and arrived in the colony on the 22nd September 1866. According to her shipping papers, she could not read nor write.

Mary married John Adam Fergus on October 7, 1869 in Dry Plain near Adaminaby, NSW.3 John was born on May 25, 1843 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, died on June 13, 1928 in St Peters, NSW4 at age 85, and was buried on June 14, 1928 in Presbyterian Section, Mittagang Cemetery, Cooma, NSW. The cause of his death was Chronic myocarditis, diarrohea.

   6 F    v. Mary Jane Fergus was born on February 28, 1879 in Bredbo River, NSW15 and died on September 24, 1950 in Parramatta, NSW16 at age 71.

   F    vi. Elizabeth Margaret H. Fergus was born in 1881 in Bredbo, NSW17 and died in 1937 in Coonamble, NSW18 at age 56.

Elizabeth married Francis L. Johnson in 1919 in Ashfield, NSW.19

   7 F    vii. Catherine Fergus was born in 1884 in Bredbo, NSW,20 died on December 12, 1914 in Drummoyne, NSW21 at age 30, and was buried on December 13, 1914 in Field of Mars Cemetery, Ryde, NSW.

   M    iii. James Maceligott Hilley was born in 1881 in Cooma, NSW,29 died on December 28, 1954 in Adaminaby, NSW30 at age 73, and was buried in Old Adaminaby Cemetery, NSW Catholic section.

James married Bridget Heywood in 1934 in Cooma, NSW.31 Bridget was born in 1894 in Adaminaby, NSW,32 died on May 27, 1988 in Cooma, NSW at age 94, and was buried in Cooma Lawn Cemetery, NSW.

   F    iv. Catherine M. Hilley was born in 1883 in Cooma, NSW.33

Catherine married Francis Collins in 1915 in Sydney, NSW.34
